![]() In 2014, Anime Studio 10 contained upgraded features and new mechanics to its predecessor. In 2012, Smith Micro released Anime Studio 9, with new features including Smart Bones, Editable Motion Graphs, and Bézier handles, as well as enhancements to the timeline, key frames, and onionskins. Version 8.1 also supported the new Poser 9 SDK and integrated the Wacom multi-touch API, allowing it to work natively with Wacom's Bamboo and Intuos tablets. In 2011, Anime Studio 8 added features such as the Character Wizard, layered Photoshop import, and real-time media connection. In 2010, Smith Micro released Anime Studio 7, which added features such as Physics, 3D creation and an improved interface. The software was distributed by E Frontier until 2007, when it was acquired by Smith Micro and renamed Anime Studio, as a marketing companion for the former Manga Studio. The software was originally developed under the name "Moho" in 1999 by Mike Clifton at Lost Marble. I would use a background that you know, could be just a simple colour fill of your choice other than black. "The best way to test the transparency is to re-import your render back into an animation or a video editor and check that the alpha channel gets recognised. In reply to my question on how to check if it's transparent, he has just posted: On the bottom of that page, select 16 Million+ colours (the + being the Alpha Channel – that’s very important to retain transparancy information in the movie). On the next page choose Animation as your compression codec. Click OK and give your movie a file name. Even though this will retain your alpha channel, it will render your movie as an image sequence which makes importing difficult and messy. Instead, choose Animation and select “do not premultiply alpha channel”. The manual states to use the Quicktime export option with 16mil+ colours and PNG codec. This feature is useful if a render takes a long time and you’d like to import the final render into another project, or duplicate the same render in your existing project (say an explosion, just like in Tutorial 6.4).
